  2. Inspect for Repairs: Carefully inspect each room for any needed repairs or touch-ups, such as paint touch-ups, fixing loose handles, or replacing damaged fixtures.

  3. Mail Forwarding: Change your mailing address with the post office and update your address with any relevant parties.

Interior Preparation:
  1. Unpack Essentials First: Pack a box with essential items like toiletries, medications, a change of clothes, and basic kitchen supplies. This will be handy on moving day.

  2. Organize Rooms: Plan where your furniture and belongings will go in each room, making the moving process smoother.

  3. Install Window Treatments: If needed, install blinds or curtains for privacy and light control.

Exterior and Yard:
  1. Landscaping: Trim bushes, mow the lawn, and clean up the yard to improve curb appeal.

  2. Inspect Outdoor Features: Check the condition of decks, patios, and fences for any needed repairs.

  3. Outdoor Lighting: Ensure outdoor lighting is functional for safety and security.

Miscellaneous:
  1. Emergency Contacts: Compile a list of emergency contacts, including local utility companies, maintenance professionals, and neighbors.

  2. Familiarize Yourself: Explore the neighborhood and locate essential places like grocery stores, hospitals, and nearby services.

  3. Create an Inventory: Document valuable items and their conditions for insurance purposes.

  4. Meet Neighbors: Introduce yourself to your new neighbors; they can provide valuable information about the area.
